In the selection of the installation location of the diesel generator set, taking into account the air intake, exhaust and smoke exhaust of the diesel generator set, it is better to set the machine room on the first floor if conditions permit. However, high-rise buildings are expensive, especially the first floor is usually used for external business, which is a golden area. Therefore, the computer room is generally located in the basement. In addition, the ventilation problem should also be considered. Regarding the installation precautions and ventilation problems in the basement, we have already mentioned them in the previous article, and will not be described in detail here. This article focuses on the exhaust system, foundation, grounding of the machine room, and fuel storage.
1. Smoke exhaust system factors that need to be considered in the installation location of diesel generator sets The function of the smoke exhaust system is to discharge the exhaust gas in the cylinder to the outside. The exhaust system should minimize the back pressure, because the increase in the exhaust resistance will lead to a decrease in the output of the diesel engine and an increase in the temperature rise. There are two common ways of laying exhaust pipes:
The first type: horizontal overhead laying, the advantages are less turning and resistance, but the disadvantage is that it increases the indoor heat dissipation and increases the temperature of the computer room;
The second type: laying in the trench, the advantage is that the indoor heat dissipation is small, and the disadvantage is that the smoke exhaust pipe has many turns, and the resistance is relatively large. Horizontal overhead laying is commonly used in basements. The exhaust pipe should be led out separately, and elbows should be minimized. The exhaust gas temperature is 350~550℃. In order to prevent burns and reduce radiant heat, the exhaust pipe should be insulated. The smoke exhaust noise is the strongest in the total noise of the unit, and a muffler should be installed to reduce the noise.
2. “Basic” factors that need to be considered for the installation location of the diesel generator set The foundation is mainly used to support the entire weight of the diesel generator set and the base. The base is located on the foundation, the unit is installed on the base, and shock absorption measures are generally taken on the base. High-speed diesel generator sets are generally used in high-rise buildings. When the units are installed on the floor, that is, not on the bottom floor, heavy concrete foundations are not used, so as to prevent the foundation from being too heavy and increasing the floor load. When the unit is located on the ground floor of the building, the concrete foundation shall be set up according to the requirements of the unit. Bottom corner screws can be pre-buried or installed with an electric drill after the unit arrives.
3. Engine room grounding factors that need to be considered for the installation location of diesel generator sets Diesel generator rooms generally use three grounding methods:
The first type: work grounding, generator neutral point grounding;
The second type: protective grounding, the metal shell of the electrical equipment is normally grounded;
The third type: anti-static grounding, equipment and pipelines of the fuel system are grounded. Various groundings can share grounding devices with other groundings in high-rise buildings, that is, joint grounding methods are used.
4. Fuel storage factors that need to be considered for the installation location of diesel generator sets. The daily fuel tank of 3~8h needs to be set in the engine room
