The difference of diesel generator set in plain and plateau use

1, due to the low air pressure in the plateau area, thin air, small oxygen content, especially for naturally aspirated diesel engines, due to insufficient intake and combustion conditions deteriorate, so that the diesel engine can not issue the original specified calibrated power. Even though the basic structure of the diesel engine is the same, the calibrated power of each type of diesel engine is different, so their capacity at the plateau is not the same. For example, 6135Q-1 type diesel engine, the calibrated power is 161.8kW /2200r/min, due to the large calibrated power, performance margin is very small, then in the plateau use each increase of 1000m, the power is reduced about 12%, so long-term use in the plateau should be based on the local elevation, appropriate to reduce the amount of oil supply. The 6135K-11 diesel engine, although the combustion process is the same, but because the calibrated power is only 117.7kW/2200r/min, the performance has enough margin, so that the diesel engine itself has a certain plateau working capacity.

 

Considering the tendency of ignition delay under high altitude conditions, in order to improve the operation economy of diesel generator set, it is generally recommended that the fuel supply advance Angle of naturally aspirated diesel engine should be properly advanced. As the sea level rises, the power performance decreases, and the exhaust temperature rises, the user should also consider the high altitude working capacity of the diesel engine when selecting the diesel engine, and strictly avoid overload operation.

 

According to the experiments in recent years, exhaust gas turbocharging can be used as power compensation for diesel engines used in plateau areas. Exhaust gas turbocharging can not only make up for the lack of high altitude power, but also improve smoke, restore power performance and reduce fuel consumption.

 

2, with the rise of the sea, the ambient temperature is also lower than the plain area, generally every 1000m, the ambient temperature decreased by about 0.6 ° C, plus due to the thin plateau air, therefore, the starting performance of the diesel generator set is worse than the plain area. When using, the user should take the corresponding auxiliary starting measures with low temperature starting.

 

(3) Due to the rise of the sea, the boiling point of water is reduced, while the wind pressure and cooling air quality of the cooling air are reduced, and the heat per kilowatt is increased per unit time, so the cooling conditions of the cooling system are worse than the plain. Generally, it is not appropriate to use an open cooling cycle in high sea level areas, and a pressurized closed cooling system can be used to increase the boiling point of the coolant when used at high altitude.
