Low load diesel generator set exhaust pipe dripping oil

If the diesel generator set runs under a small load, the following failures will occur over the duration of the operation:

11.13

1. The piston – cylinder liner seal is not good, the oil is channeling, burning into the combustion chamber, and the exhaust takes blue smoke.

2. For the turbocharged diesel engine of the generator set, the booster pressure is low due to low load and no-load. It is easy to lead to the reduction of the sealing effect of the supercharger oil seal (non-contact), and the oil enters the pressurization chamber and enters the cylinder with the intake air.

3. Part of the oil involved in the combustion of the cylinder, part of the oil can not be completely burned, forming carbon deposits in the valve, inlet, piston top, piston ring, etc., and some are discharged with the exhaust. In this way, the cylinder liner exhaust duct will gradually accumulate oil, and carbon deposits will be formed.

4. The oil accumulation in the supercharger chamber to a certain extent will leak out from the combination surface of the supercharger.

5. Long-term small-load operation will lead to more serious wear of moving parts, deterioration of engine combustion environment and other consequences leading to early overhaul.

Therefore, foreign generator set manufacturers, regardless of the use of naturally aspirated or pressurized models, emphasize that the low-load/no-load running time should be minimized, and stipulate that the small load can not be less than 25%-30% of the rated power of the unit.
