2. Anti-rust and anti-corrosion: Lubricating oil can absorb the surface of the parts to prevent the contact of water, air, acidic substances and harmful gases with the parts.
3. Lubrication and friction reduction: There is rapid relative sliding between the piston and the cylinder, and between the main shaft and the bush. To prevent the parts from wearing too quickly, an oil film needs to be established between the two sliding surfaces. An oil film with a sufficient thickness separates the surfaces of parts that slide relatively, so as to achieve the purpose of reducing wear.
4. Cleaning and cleaning: good diesel engine oil can circulate the carbides, sludge and worn metal particles on the engine parts back to the engine oil tank, and the dirt generated on the working surface of the parts is washed through the flow of lubricating oil.
5. Cooling: Diesel oil can bring heat back to the engine oil tank and then distribute it to the air to help the water tank cool down.
6. Shock absorption buffer: When the pressure of the engine cylinder port rises sharply, the load on the piston, piston scrap, connecting rod and crankshaft bearing is suddenly increased. This load is transmitted through the bearing to lubricate, so that the impact load received acts as a buffer. .

1. Use two glass test tubes with a diameter of 0.5 cm and a length of 20 cm. Fill 19 cm of new engine oil and used engine oil respectively. After sealing, invert the two tubes together and record the time when the bubbles rise. If the difference between the two exceeds 20 %, it means that the viscosity of the used engine oil has decreased;
2. Compare each drop of new engine oil and used engine oil on white filter paper. If there are more black spots in the used oil drops, it indicates that the engine oil has not been transformed and should not be replaced; if the engine oil is dark brown, then For transformation, it should be replaced.

What is the reason why generator oil deteriorates quickly?
The main reasons for generator oil to deteriorate quickly are as follows:
1. The oil grade is incorrect and the quality does not meet the requirements. Generally, the Cummins diesel generating set with supercharging and nominal rotation speed greater than 2000r/min should use oil above CC level.
2. The technical condition of the generator set is not good, the blow-by gas, the blow-by oil, the cooperation clearance is too large or the oil temperature is too high.
3. The generator set often runs at low temperature, low load, and low speed. The deformation of the piston is not enough and the combustion is not good. The diesel oil enters the oil pan along the cylinder wall to dilute and deteriorate the engine oil.
4. Exhaust gas enters the oil pan and condenses into water and acidic substances, which deteriorates the engine oil.
5. The oil filter element is dirty. The unfiltered dirty oil enters the lubricating part, which will also accelerate the wear of the generator set parts.
