When we perform after-sales maintenance on diesel generators, we often receive phone calls from users, saying that when the diesel generator set is in normal use, the phenomenon of diesel permeating into the diesel engine of the generator set is how to deal with it. First of all, we have to tell you that diesel permeates into the engine, that is, it leaks into the oil pan, which is very harmful. It not only reduces the oil viscosity and oil pressure, but also dilutes various additives in the oil. If it penetrates, it can even cause bearing burnout in the engine. Here, we introduce some troubleshooting methods.
1. Fuel pump
The fuel pump has a dual magnetic and manual shutoff valve. When the ignition switch is on, the magnetic shutoff valve is opened. When the oil circuit is connected to the ignition switch, the shutoff valve is sealed and the oil circuit is closed. When the closing valve seal fails, fuel will automatically flow into the syringe through the closing valve and seep into the oil pan through the combustion chamber. At this time, the seal cut-off valve should be removed and replaced.
2. Syringe
The role of the injector is to measure the fuel entering the combustion chamber. When too large or damaged, the fuel nozzle into the combustion chamber will drop and stop in a state of infiltration into the oil pan. At this point, we need to remove and replace the abnormal injector. If this fails, the upward and downward O-ring fuel will descend into the valve chamber and pass through the sealed combustion chamber into the oil pan. At this time, it should be removed and replaced.
3. Oil tank
The fuel tank located in the higher position of the fuel system must have a manual valve installed at the tank outlet to prevent fuel from passing through the float tank and the fuel pump to the injector, when the engine is shut off and the valve fails, the fuel through the combustion chamber will seep into the oil pan. At this point, the valve should be repaired or replaced.
4. Floating tank
There must be float ball valves and conical valves installed in the float tank that will maintain fuel levels and make fuel steady. When the float ball valve or poppet valve is closed, it fails. Through the float tank, the tank will enter the oil pan. At this point, the float or cone valve should be repaired or replaced.
5. Oil returns in many ways
The return manifold of the generator fuel system is equipped with a check valve to keep the fuel injection pressure stable and to spray the fuel through the float box to prevent fuel leakage. When the one-way check valve fails, fuel will flow through the return manifold and sampler into the oil pan. At this point, the check valve should be repaired and replaced.
