There are many methods for judging the failure of diesel generator sets. At present, the isolation method, the comparison method, the verification method and the instrument inspection method are more commonly used.
1. Partition method
The isolation method is to stop the work of a single cylinder of the diesel engine or stop the fuel injection of several or even all cylinders one by one, and observe the change of the working state of the diesel engine before and after the fuel injection is stopped. This method is used to check the working condition of each cylinder, especially the color of exhaust smoke of each cylinder is the most effective.
2. Comparison method
The comparison method is more commonly used. After the diesel generator set fails, if you have doubts about a certain component or system, you can replace it with a good quality component or a normal system and observe whether the fault phenomenon is eliminated. If the fault phenomenon disappears, it proves that the fault occurred in this component or system.
3. Verification method
The verification method refers to tentative adjustment or disassembly based on the known cause of the failure to check the correctness of the past analysis, so as to find out the failure.
4. Instrument inspection method
Instrument inspection method refers to the use of instruments or meters to test the diesel generator set to find out the hidden trouble and understand the performance and condition of the unit.
