How to clean the fuel tank of diesel generator set?

Before refueling the oil tank of diesel generator, make sure that there are no fireworks around it. After refueling, make sure that the oil cap is tightly locked. After refueling, keep a safe distance between the oil drum and the oil tank.

If there is too much sediment in the fuel tank of the diesel generator set, a large number of impurities will enter the tubing, accelerate the blockage of the filter, and lead to the wear of many parts, affecting the normal use of the unit. This tells us that it is very necessary to clean the fuel tank regularly, so what is the correct cleaning procedure?

1. Unscrew the oil drain plug of the oil tank, and install the oil drain plug after the oil is released.

2. Remove the tank cover and filter screen, add fuel into the tank, and the oil level is about 15-20mm from the bottom of the tank.

3. Then connect the compressed air hose to the special spray shampoo. Spray shampoo is generally a metal tube with an outer diameter of 12mm and a length of 250mm. After plugging one end of the tube, 4-5 small holes of 1mm are drilled, and the other end is connected with a hose.

4. Insert the hose with spray shampoo into the bottom of the tank.

5. Seal the refueling port with cotton gauze covered with clean cloth, turn on the compressed air switch, and keep the pressure of 380-600kPa for washing.

6. When the spray wash washes through the tank, immediately remove the oil drain plug and release the dirty oil. So repeated cleaning 2-3 times, to achieve the purpose of removing dirt.

7. After cleaning the oil tank, check whether there is dirt or damage in the oil tank filling filter, and handle it at any time.

8, should check the oil tank cover air valve is smooth, if the valve spring is not elastic or rust should be repaired or replaced.

9, finally fill up the oil, eliminate the air in the oil circuit.

The water discharge work of diesel generator set must ensure that the coolant is all released, especially in winter, if there is a small amount of coolant in the diesel generator set is not released, it may freeze the cooling system of the generator set, affecting the normal use of the diesel generator set.
