1, generator loss of magnetic damage to the power system
(1) When the generator loses magnetism, the generator with low excitation or loss of magnetism will absorb reactive power from the system, which will make the voltage of the power system drop, if the power system capacity is small or the reactive power reserve is insufficient, it will make the generator terminal voltage, the bus voltage on the high voltage side of the booster transformer or the voltage of other nearby points lower than the allowable value. In this way, the stable operation between the load and the power supply will be destroyed, and even the voltage collapse of the power system will occur.
(2) When the generator has a low excitation or loss of magnetic voltage drop, other generators in the system will increase their reactive power output under the action of the automatic adjustment of the excitation device, which will lead to some electrical components in the system. For example, the transformer or the transmission line generates over current, so that the backup protection action cuts out the overload component and expands the fault range.
(3) When the generator has low excitation or loss of magnetism, due to the swing of the active power and the decrease of the system voltage, it may lead to the loss of step between the adjacent normal operation of the generator and the system or between various parts of the power system, so that the system oscillates and a large number of load rejection.
2, the generator loss of magnetism to the generator itself
After the generator loses magnetism, it will not only cause great harm to the power system, but also cause certain harm to the generator itself:
