The daily maintenance of diesel generating sets of generating units generally include several aspects:
(1) When the diesel generator set is in the standby state, the voltage of the starting battery, the height of the liquid level, the specific gravity of the electrolyte and the circumstances of the battery pile should be frequently checked, and the starting battery should be charged in time when the starting battery is found to be low. Charge should be in strict accordance with the charge. Charging should be carried out in strict accordance with the battery manufacturer’s instructions to prevent damage to the starting battery.
When it is found that the electrolyte level is lower than the standard, it should be supplemented in time, and only distilled water or battery supplement liquid should be added when supplementing, and dilute sulfuric acid should not be added, otherwise the proportion of the electrolyte will become higher and higher, causing damage to the battery.
The generator set with a computer control screen, and the unit using an automatic charger, should always keep the charger on, so as to avoid the long-term use of electricity caused by the computer control screen battery loss. Without a computer control screen and using a manual charger, in the case of no fault in the starting battery, the starting battery should be charged once every half month.
(2) The standby diesel generator set should be no-load test once every half a month, but when the no-load test machine, the actual time is not easy to exceed 15min, especially in the case of low engine cooling water temperature, it is not appropriate for the actual time to be too long, so as to avoid carbon deposition inside the engine and black oil flow in the exhaust pipe due to low engine temperature and incomplete fuel combustion.
In addition, every six months, the diesel generator set with load test machine once, with load test machine load should be less than 50% of the capacity of the generator set, to the load time is not less than 1h.
When the unit with the oil engine/mains conversion cabinet to the load test machine, the oil engine mains conversion cabinet should be placed in the automatic position of the moving position to achieve the purpose of synchronous test.
(3) diesel generator set installation in the basement, relatively humid place, pay attention to the generating set of moistureproof, often should open the Windows and doors ventilation or use a fan for ventilation.

(4) When the diesel generator is not used for a long time, the output air switch on the generator control cabinet should be disconnected, and a sign should be hung on the handle to prevent misoperation or other equipment failure to power back to the generator, causing casualties and equipment damage.
(5) Diesel generator set with coolant heater, in the winter should be turned on the heater, to the engine coolant temperature, so that the engine is easy to start.
With no heater and no use of antifreeze unit, generator set in winter when not in use, should put off the engine cooling water, water should be open the engine when all the switch and the tank cover, water after water shall not be shut down.
(6) In the case of long-term backup of the diesel generator set, the antifreeze should be replaced every two years to avoid the failure of the antifreeze and damage to the engine. At the same time, the lubricating oil, lubricating oil filter and fuel filter should be replaced.
(7) The standby diesel generator set should keep sufficient fuel in the fuel tank at any time, there is no heating equipment in the oil room, and the room temperature can not be guaranteed in winter, and the fuel of different grades should be replaced with seasonal changes.
Keep the fuel in the fuel tank clean. When filling the fuel in the fuel tank, the oil pump pumping tubing should not be inserted into the bottom of the oil transport container to prevent impurities at the bottom of the container from entering the fuel tank. After the fuel tank is filled with fuel, it must be precipitated for more than 2h before starting the diesel generator set.
When the unit is installed in a relatively humid location, or when the air humidity is high in the rainy season, the precipitated water at the bottom of the fuel tank should be discharged from the blowdown valve of the fuel tank regularly according to the actual situation.
(8) maintain cleanliness of engine oil and diesel generating sets, and keep a small animal oil into the rooms.
(9) The oil room must be equipped with sufficient fire extinguishing equipment.
(10) each diesel generator set shall be equipped with the machine dedicated book, record the boot time, maintenance, repair and replacement, etc., the number of parts name as a reference for future maintenance.
